3CX V20 Update 5 Final: Enhancing Communication and Management

The latest 3CX V20 Update 5 Final brings significant enhancements to communication and management capabilities. This update focuses on improving integration with key platforms like Google Workspace and Microsoft Teams, as well as introducing advanced features like voicemail transcription.

Here are some of the key highlights of the 3CX V20 Update 5 Final:

  • Google Workspace Integration: 3CX now offers deeper integration with Google Workspace. This includes features such as:
    • User Account Syncing: Easily synchronize user accounts from Google Workspace.
    • Personal Contact Sync: One-way syncing of personal Google contacts with the 3CX phonebook.
    • Status Synchronization: 3CX profile status will update based on Google Calendar events (e.g., setting status to busy during a meeting).
    • Google Bucket Storage: Utilize Google Buckets for remote storage of 3CX phone system data.
    • Google Speech for Transcription: Leverage Google Speech for voicemail and recording transcription.
    • Google Workspace for Email: Send emails using Google Workspace accounts.
    • Google SSO: Enable users to sign in to the 3CX Web Client using their Google credentials.
    • Google ReCaptcha: Enhanced protection against automated attacks and abuse.
  • Enhanced Microsoft Teams Status Control: The update extends the current Microsoft 365 interface, allowing users to select and control their presence across both Teams and 3CX. This ensures that status information is consistently shared between the two platforms.
  • Voicemail and Call Transcription: Voicemail transcription is now available with a 3CX PRO license. For licenses with 8 simultaneous calls (SC) or higher, transcription using 3CX AI is currently free. For 4SC licenses, configuration with OpenAI or Google is required. Call transcription requires an Enterprise (ENT) 3CX license, and the affordable 3CX AI call transcription remains in BETA for testing at no extra cost.
  • Multi-Tenant Enhancements: For administrators managing multi-tenant 3CX systems, Update 5 introduces new features such as trunk creation for department owners, transcription control per tenant, holiday prompts, and configurable paging and multicast. These enhancements provide greater flexibility and control in multi-tenant environments.
  • Advanced Call Routing Scripts: 3CX continues to expand the availability of advanced call routing scripts for System Administrators. New additions include inbound Caller ID routing and inbound DID routing, offering greater flexibility in managing incoming calls.
  • Expanded Device Support: The update adds support for new Fanvil IP phone models (V61G, V61W, V62G, and V62W) and expands DECT phone support for Snom DECT M500 series and Fanvil DECT W710D series.
  • Twilio SIP Trunk Auto Setup: 3CX now offers the option to automatically set up a SIP Trunk with Twilio using their “Elastic SIP Trunking” product. This simplifies the process of connecting with a leading global VoIP provider.
  • Additional Improvements: The update also includes various other improvements, such as temporary remote Web Admin access links, customizable avatar shapes, customized voicemail greetings for queues and ring groups, automatic extension assignment when importing DIDs, improved CRM authorization, and more.
